Jo Bartlam
There are many times in our lives when a gesture of kindness is appreciated, but even fewer times when it goes above and beyond, and makes a lasting impression. One of these times was the very important occasion for one of our residents; her son's wedding. It is often the practice of Country Crest and its staff to assist in making the lives of our residents comfortable and fulfilled, with the desire to assist wherever needed. For our resident Jo Bartlam, this meant everything, from accommodations for her family in our fully furnished guest apartments, to our dining services catering the wedding. Jo, her son Ken, and his wife Annie, wanted the menu simple and met with our Director of Dining Services, Mike Francis, to plan this very special occasion. Some original food items as well as specialty items like Empanada and Spanokopita were included on the menu. Jo commented on how everything was ready and complete, including the small details of utensils and serving ware. Mike and the dining staff assisted Jo and her family, not only in preparation, but also on their day off, desiring that this very special occasion would be perfect.
After the wedding, the groom, Ken shared, "The food was extremely good - fresh and tasty; presented and ready to serve better than we could have done. They took special care in the preparation of the food, taking in consideration of dietary needs. A real relief of pressure with everything else that needed to be done." The wedding went as planned and the guests loved the food. Country Crest was pleased to be a part of this special day, helping our resident with this memorable occasion. This was a great experience for Jo and when asked her thoughts, she exclaimed, "Oh…thank you Mike!"
