Lise Stimson

When asked why she helped her parents choose Country Crest Retirement Community, Lise Stimson didn't hesitate. She says, "It's the people, the caring respect and the personal touch. Other places were just 'dwellings'." Lise's parents, Dot and Don Stout, have lived all over, but retired to the beautiful Kelly Ridge area, not far from Country Crest.

Lise and her folks were interested early on in the continuing care community and were among the first residents at Country Crest. While Dot and Don loved their home on Kelly Ridge, they wanted to simplify their lives. The peace-of-mind that a continuing care retirement community offers was also an important consideration. With assisted living and skilled nursing care onsite, Lise, who lives out of the area, knew that any future needs could be accommodated.

Faith is an important principle at Country Crest. The community was the vision of nearby Calvary Lutheran Church, to serve all Oroville area residents. Lise says the fact that Country Crest is faith-based and not-for-profit also played a prominent part in Dot and Don's choice to become residents. She says, "It’s not just a business. Country Crest's heritage provides a deeper purpose and a basis for care giving."
